Gyotaku is a traditional artistic method originating in Japan that dates back to the mid-1800s. This form of natural printing was used by fishermen who wanted to keep a record of their best catches, but it also became an art form.Both sides of the fish They are covered with ink and placed inside a folded sheet or between two sheets of paper. When rubbed with the hand, the image is captured.

The original print, almost always made with black ink, may receive some color touch-ups by the artist.
